The Place Preference Enclosure is used for various types of animal research studies, and often used along with a video tracking system such as SDI's ANY-maze video tracking system. As for visual cues, the clear acrylic walls can be covered with either solid colors or patterns. Likewise the supplied ABS plastic floors (one smooth and one pebbled side) can be used for tactile cues. Importantly, the Place Preference Enclosure floors are removable allowing them be used as customizable patterns to design your own floors. For example, you can customize the floor’s texture, use floors with holes to allow scents to rise into the enclosure for olfactory place preference testing, or use aversive floors such as wire mesh. This flexibility makes the Place Preference Enclosure ideal for use in a variety of place preference experiments.
